Meet Mithra, your child's maths friend.
Mithra means "friend". Children work through the questions in their own textbook with Mithra, who explains step by step and checks they've really understood, instead of handing over the answer. For students at home and for schools.
Take a few examples and check whether –
Associativity of addition
(3 + 4) + 5 = 7 + 5 = 12
3 + (4 + 5) = 3 + 9 = 12
So, (3 + 4) + 5 = 3 + (4 + 5)
1. Subtraction is commutative for whole numbers or not?

When your child is stuck on homework, Mithra sits beside them like a patient private tutor, in simple English, on any phone or laptop.

Built around the textbook children already use
The same tutor at home and at school: it follows the book page by page, so it fits straight into what's happening in class.
Tap any question in the book
The textbook page is on screen. Children tap the exact question, example or figure they're stuck on and the tutor starts right there.
Teaches, never just answers
It checks what the child already knows, explains with everyday Indian examples, lets them solve the book question, then gives one more to prove it.
Listen and speak
Every reply can be read aloud, and children can speak their answers instead of typing. Everything stays in simple English, just like class.
Homework from the textbook
Teachers pick chapters, pages or single questions with a due date, and it appears on every student's screen.
Progress you can act on
See what was finished, what wasn't started and where a child keeps getting stuck, by student, class or chapter.
Safe for children
No ads and no chat with strangers. At school, students sign in with a class code and a 4-digit PIN: no email or phone needed.
Try it the way a student would
Open a real chapter of the textbook, tap a question and work through it with Mithra. No sign-in needed. The demo covers a few pages of one chapter.
Every session follows the same five steps
The way a good private tutor works: find the gap first, fill it, then make sure it stuck.
Frequently asked questions
Anything else? Leave your details in one of the forms above and we'll get back to you.
For students & parents
Can my child use Tutor Mithra without a school?
Soon. Plans for individual students are on the way. Join early access and we'll tell you as soon as they open. Meanwhile, you can try the demo with no sign-in.
How much will it cost for one child?
Prices for individual plans will be announced when they open. Families on the early-access list hear first.
Will the tutor just give my child the answers?
No. It's designed not to. It asks questions, gives hints that get stronger step by step, and only walks through a full method after several tries. Even then, your child has to solve a new practice question themselves.
Which textbooks are included?
English-medium Mathematics textbooks used in Telangana schools, every chapter and every page.
What devices does it work on?
Any modern phone, tablet, laptop or desktop with a web browser and an internet connection: Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox.
For schools
How do we get started?
If you have a school access code, choose "Set up your school", enter the code, your school's name and your own email and password. A short guided setup helps you add classes and invite teachers. No code yet? Use "Ask for access" above.
How do students sign in? Do they need an email or phone number?
No. Students go to the website, choose "Student sign in", type their 6-letter class code, tap their name and enter their 4-digit PIN. Teachers can print a login card for every student, and reset a forgotten PIN in one click.
Can students share one device, like a computer lab?
Yes. Each student signs out when they finish, and the next student signs in with their own name and PIN. Their work and progress stay separate.
Can teachers control what students work on?
Yes. Teachers set homework by chapter, page or single question with a due date. They can also switch a class to "assigned pages only", so students only see what's been set.
What data do you keep about students?
Only a student's name, an optional roll number, their PIN and which questions they worked on and when. No email, phone number, photo or address. Schools can download all of their data at any time.
Is there a limit on how much students can use it?
By default each student can send up to 150 messages to the tutor per day, which is plenty for several questions. School admins can raise or lower this limit.
